Santa Chiara, Gothic basilica and monastery museum in Centro Storico, Naples, Italy.
The Santa Chiara complex extends 130 meters in length with a 47-meter-high nave, containing ten lateral chapels and numerous medieval tombs within its stone walls.
King Robert of Anjou and Queen Sancha commissioned the construction of Santa Chiara between 1310 and 1328, establishing it as their royal chapel and future burial location.
The restored Gothic church features the tombs of Angevin royalty, including King Robert's monument created by Florentine artists Pacio and Giovanni Bertini in the 14th century.
The religious complex welcomes visitors Monday through Saturday from 09:30 to 17:00 and Sundays from 10:00 to 14:00, offering access to both church and museum sections.
The majolica-tiled cloister, decorated in 1742, displays colorful scenes of everyday life against the medieval architecture of the monastery complex.
