The Cleveland Museum of Art displays more than 61,000 artworks across 592,000 square feet of exhibition space in a white Georgian marble building.
The museum opened in 1916 through endowments from industrialists Hinman Hurlbut, John Huntington, and Horace Kelley, who invested 1.25 million dollars in construction.
The permanent collection spans 16 departments, including Chinese, Modern European, American Painting and Sculpture, African Art, and works from Botticelli to Van Gogh.
The museum maintains free general admission for all visitors and opens its doors from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM with guided tours in multiple languages.
In 2019, the museum released rights to 30,000 objects from its collection into the public domain, providing free access to high-resolution images and data.
