Louveira

Louveira Railway Museum displays historic locomotives, freight cars, and railway equipment across the former station grounds. Visitors can walk through the preserved vehicles and machinery that document rail transport operations from earlier periods.

The building started as a railway station in 1915 and served as a major hub for cargo and passenger traffic between regional cities. When rail travel declined, it was converted into a museum to preserve that era of transportation history.

The collection reflects how railways shaped trade routes and connected distant communities across São Paulo state during the industrial era.

Access is through the main entrance at the former station area, and the grounds are easy to walk around. Plan extra time to view all the vehicles thoroughly, and wear comfortable shoes for walking across the open exhibition areas.

The museum keeps original mechanical signal equipment and track switches from the early 1900s in working condition for live demonstrations. These operational devices reveal the skill and engineering that went into running railway systems before modern technology arrived.
