Hotel Bencoolen
Hotel Bencoolen is a hotel in central Singapore operating across two separate buildings, one on Bencoolen Street and one on Hongkong Street. The Bencoolen Street property is the larger of the two, and both offer a range of room types alongside facilities including an outdoor pool and a rooftop gym.
The hotel started as a single property on Bencoolen Street and later opened a second location on Hongkong Street. The Hongkong Street address gained wider recognition when it appeared in the Michelin Guide between 2016 and 2018.
The hotel sits in the Bencoolen area, close to hawker stalls, local coffee shops, and small retailers that give a sense of everyday life in central Singapore. Walking the nearby streets, visitors encounter a mix of student crowds, office workers, and shoppers moving through one of the city's older commercial districts.
The Bencoolen Street location is a short walk from Bencoolen MRT Station, and nearby stations like Bras Basah and Dhoby Ghaut are also within easy reach on foot. Parking on site is limited, so arriving by public transport or taxi tends to be more convenient.
The Hongkong Street property has only 33 rooms, making it far smaller than the main Bencoolen Street building, which has 84. Despite its small size, it was listed in the Michelin Guide for three consecutive years and received several awards during that period.
