The museum exhibits coins from the 6th century BCE, representing diverse periods including the Indus Valley, Kushana Empire, Gupta period, and British Raj.
The exhibits demonstrate the evolution of Indian currency from early trading systems through cowries and metals to modern electronic financial transactions.
Located in Amar Building on Sir Phirozshah Mehta Road, the museum offers free entry and remains open from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM except Mondays.
The collection includes rare paper money from China and Southeast Asia, along with interactive displays showing real-time currency exchange rates.
