Westin Bonaventure
The Westin Bonaventure is a hotel in downtown Los Angeles with over 30 floors and four large mirrored cylinders on the exterior. Inside, seven-story circular concrete shapes and curved walkways connect pools of water, shops, and restaurants throughout the space.
The hotel was designed by architect John Portman in 1976 and shows a 1970s style that imagined the future. Its futuristic design with rounded shapes and bold structures became a technical and architectural milestone of that era.
The hotel represents Los Angeles' modern ambitions as a center for entertainment and business. Its bold design broke with traditional hotel architecture and influenced other buildings in the city.
The hotel is located at 404 South Figueroa Street surrounded by other buildings and is easy to find and reach. Color-coded elevators help navigate through the many levels and areas of the complex.
A dark glass elevator rises on the outside of the building cylinders, offering unique city views as it ascends. On the 35th floor, a revolving lounge bar slowly rotates, allowing guests to see the city in all directions.
