Ansa de la Baleta

Anse de la Balette is a small pebbled cove nestled along the Mediterranean coast of Collioure, framed by cliffs and offering views of Notre-Dame Church. The beach runs along a sheltered inlet with shallow water access.

The cove developed as a natural harbor where local fishermen sought shelter from storms, shaping the maritime character of the region. This protective role became central to the community's relationship with the sea.

Access requires descending stairs from the main road, so parking is easier in central Collioure than near the beach. The spot is most comfortable to visit early or late in the day when beach activity is lighter.

The beach hosts a summer children's club and permits dogs and barbecues, welcoming different types of visitors. This relaxed approach sets it apart from more formal bathing areas nearby.
