A'DAM Toren, Observation deck in Amsterdam North, Netherlands
A'DAM Tower is a building with an observation platform that rises above the IJ River and dominates Amsterdam North. From here, visitors see the harbor, canals, and city center from a great height.
The building was constructed in 1971 as the headquarters of the Shell corporation. In 2016, it was transformed and given new functions focused on entertainment and dining.
The building houses several music industry companies, including Sony Music and MassiveMusic, which makes it a working center for Dutch music professionals. These businesses use the spaces here to support artists and develop new projects.
Visitors can reach the building using free ferries that depart regularly from Central Station. Opening hours extend through most of the day into the evening.
The building is known for a swinging installation at the edge of the observation platform where visitors can swing over the city. This swing is positioned at extreme height and offers an unusual view of Amsterdam.
