Plage de l'Escalet

Plage de l'Escalet is a small cove on the Riviera coast between two rocky headlands, featuring soft golden sand and clear water. The inlet is framed by dark rock formations and pine trees, with a gently sloping seabed that varies in depth across different sections.

The area served as a fishing ground for local boats for centuries before becoming a swimming destination in recent decades. The rock formations and marine environment remained largely unchanged through these transitions, preserving the site's natural character.

This cove serves as a meeting place where visitors share the experience of swimming among rocky outcrops and observing marine life in shallow waters. The setting encourages exploration of tide pools and underwater rock formations that define the local seaside experience.

Access to the cove requires a short walk from the parking area, taking about 10 to 15 minutes along a coastal path. The route passes through pine forest and offers no facilities directly at the beach, so visitors should bring water and supplies if needed.

The seabed drops steeply just a few meters from shore, creating a sudden transition from shallow to deep water. This abrupt depth change makes the site popular with snorkelers who can observe underwater rocks and fish in the deeper zones.
