New Yashima Aquarium

New Yashima Aquarium is a marine life center in Takamatsu with more than 80 tanks displaying different water environments. The collection features species from tropical, cold-water, and freshwater zones in one location.

The aquarium was founded to house a collection of rare marine animals, including manatees and large freshwater fish. Over the years it has grown into an important facility for preserving ocean species.

The aquarium displays marine animals that connect to the local fishing and ocean heritage of the Kagawa region. Visitors can see how closely people here have always depended on the sea.
