Żywieckie mini-zoo, Mini-zoo in Habsburg Park, Żywiec, Poland
Żywieckie Mini-Zoo is a small animal facility located within Habsburg Park featuring domestic species in spacious open areas. The grounds hold peacocks, goats, sheep, donkeys, chickens, deer, and other creatures arranged throughout the green landscape.
The building was originally constructed as a stable by the owners of the Żywiec Brewery during the Habsburg period. It was later converted to house and display animals for public viewing.
The space functions as a neighborhood gathering place where families watch the animals roaming in their areas throughout the day. Children and adults interact directly with the animals in ways that traditional larger zoos typically don't allow.
The grounds feature multiple walking paths and viewing areas that accommodate different levels of mobility for most visitors. Comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended since much of the experience takes place outdoors.
Children can ride ponies at no cost, which sets this place apart from typical zoo experiences in the region. A café housed in a historic structure next to the animal areas provides refreshments and rest for visitors between activities.
