Aldeia das Águas
Aldeia das Águas is a water park in Barra do Piraí featuring more than 17 pools, slides, and attractions spread across a large property. The facility offers different areas with varied activities, from calm pools to thrilling rides including the Kilimanjaro slide at nearly 50 meters high.
The park opened in 1992 and has grown continuously, welcoming over 10 million visitors since its opening. Major expansions occurred in the early 2000s, including the construction of Resort Village das Águas in 2009.
The name Aldeia das Águas means "Village of the Waters" and reflects how the park serves as a gathering place for families and friends. Visitors use the spaces throughout the day to spend time together, creating moments that become part of their memories.
The park is located about 130 kilometers from Rio de Janeiro and is easily reached via BR 393 highway. Visitors should bring cash or cards since cash machines are limited, and it is recommended to plan at least two days to enjoy all attractions at a comfortable pace.
The Kilimanjaro slide is one of the world's tallest water slides, reaching nearly 50 meters with a 60-degree angle that allows speeds over 60 miles per hour. Only the bravest visitors dare to ride it, while others prefer to watch from the side.
