Otamendi Belgrano Palace

The Otamendi Belgrano Palace is a Renaissance-style building in San Fernando with eight stories and distinctive architectural details. Black slate roofs and a tower with German Renaissance elements form its most recognizable features, while Carrara marble stairs connect its multiple levels.

The palace was built between 1879 and 1882 as a private residence for Joaquin Mariano Belgrano, a relative of the independence leader. It represents the era when wealthy families constructed grand summer homes in the areas surrounding Buenos Aires.

The building contains imported decorative elements from across Europe that shape how visitors experience each room. These details create an atmosphere of refined taste and international connections from the era when it was built.
