Quinta Los Ombúes is a colonial-style estate in the historic centre of San Isidro, built around 1700 and now home to the Museo, Biblioteca y Archivo Histórico Municipal Dr. Horacio Beccar Varela. The Beccar Varela family gave it its present look: an Andalusian garden, Sevillian majolica tiles, pine floors, a cistern replacing the old well, and a covered patio where the planks on which Florencio Varela was killed are kept.

The land was granted by Juan de Garay in 1580 as a wheat farm. The house dates from around 1700; Mariquita Sánchez de Thompson inherited it in 1812 and sold it in 1829. The Beccar Varela family bought it in 1881 and shaped its present look. Horacio Beccar Varela died there in 1949, and his will transferred the estate to the municipality in 2006.

The exhibitions display artworks and documents that reflect how the San Isidro community has lived and changed over time. Visitors can observe the connections between local customs, social events, and the physical landscape that shaped this region.
