Parque Natural Municipal Ribera Norte, Nature reserve in San Isidro, Argentina.
Parque Natural Municipal Ribera Norte is a protected area of roughly 50 hectares along the Río de la Plata in San Isidro, where wetlands, riverside woodlands, and different ecological zones coexist. The land stretches from Camino de la Ribera to the Coastal Canal and contains varied vegetation and water features across multiple zones.
The reserve was founded in 1982 with just 10 hectares of land. It expanded to its current size in 2009 through a municipal ordinance that extended its boundaries to the Coastal Canal.
The native plant nursery shows visitors which species grow naturally in this region and how they thrive in local conditions. You can observe how the local vegetation works and why these plants matter for the area's character.
You can reach the reserve through Camino de la Ribera, which runs between López y Planes and Los Álamos streets. The morning hours offer the best conditions for observing wildlife and enjoying a quieter visit.
The reserve protects one of the last wild stretches of the Río de la Plata coast within the city. This remaining natural corridor shows what the riverside looked like before urban development.
