The Museo Histórico Municipal Brig. Gral. Juan M. Pueyrredón occupies a 1790 country house, the Quinta Pueyrredón, in Acassuso. The colonial-style building retains period furnishings, portraits by Prilidiano Pueyrredón and documents tied to Juan Martín de Pueyrredón, Director Supremo of the United Provinces of the Río de la Plata.

The museum was established in 1941 to preserve the legacy of General Juan Martín de Pueyrredón, a key figure during Argentina's path to independence. Its collections document an important period in the nation's early development.

The museum shows everyday items and furnishings from early 1800s Argentina, revealing how people lived and worked during that time. Through these objects, visitors get a sense of the social life and habits of the era.

The museum stands at Rivera Indarte 48 in Acassuso, partido of San Isidro, on the grounds of the old Chacra del Bosque Alegre. Restoration and remodeling began in 2007 and finished in April 2009, when Mayor Gustavo Posse reopened it. The gardens facing the Río de la Plata hold species over 200 years old, so allow time to walk them as well as the rooms.
