U Pirellu

U Pirellu is a campsite nestled within a cork oak forest near Porto-Vecchio, offering about 150 shaded pitches and several small dwellings for visitors. The grounds include a restaurant, grocery shop, pool, and other basic facilities spread throughout the property.

The campsite emerged in the mid-20th century as southern Corsica began welcoming visitors to its coastal areas. Its development reflected the gradual opening of this region to tourism and modern travel.

The name refers to a cork oak, reflecting how local vegetation shaped both the landscape and the identity of places in this region.

The site sits close to Palombaggia Beach, allowing visitors to easily move between the shade of the forest and the seaside. Road access is straightforward, and paths within the grounds work well for walking around.

Few coastal campsites manage to offer both tree cover and sea views at the same time, as most beach areas are relatively open and flat. Here, the woodland wraps around the site while glimpses of water remain visible.
