Lataricciu

Lataricciu is a waterfall that forms several natural pools surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation and flows through granite rocks near Porto-Vecchio in southern Corsica. The water cascades down multiple levels as it moves through the rocky landscape.

The site shows archaeological traces of early settlements from ancient times when people used water sources for sustenance. These findings indicate the area has attracted human activity for a long time.

Local people use the waterfall as a gathering spot during summer months, sharing meals and spending time together in the natural setting. The place holds social importance as a meeting point within the landscape.

You can reach the waterfall on a marked hiking trail starting from a parking area in Porto-Vecchio, which takes about 45 minutes of walking. Good hiking shoes and drinking water are helpful for the walk.

The water flows constantly throughout the year from underground springs, creating different water temperatures across seasons. Visitors will notice the water is pleasantly cool in summer but significantly colder in other months.
