Plages du Mourillon

Plages du Mourillon comprises four sandy bays stretching between Fort Louis and the Yacht Club, bordered by a palm-lined waterfront promenade. The beaches feature gently sloping shores and are equipped with showers and restroom facilities.

These beaches were artificially created in the 1970s by importing sand from the Var region, transforming the original pebble coves. This development made the waterfront more accessible and welcoming to swimmers.

The beach area serves as a gathering place where locals and visitors experience Mediterranean seaside life throughout the year. You will notice seasonal celebrations and events that bring people together to enjoy the water and shoreline.

The site offers ample free parking and is well served by pathways and facilities for visitors wanting to use the water and sand. During warmer months, lifeguards are stationed here, and designated areas cater to different water sports.

A mobile library service called Lire à la plage allows visitors to borrow books directly on the beach during summer months. This unusual service blends reading and seaside leisure in a way few beaches offer.
