Nordbad
Nordbad is a large outdoor swimming pool located in northern Erfurt, surrounded by park-like green spaces. It features a 50-meter lap pool, a shallow children's pool, several water slides, a five-meter diving tower, and a diving board.
Nordbad was comprehensively redesigned in 2010 and has since become the city's largest outdoor swimming facility. This renovation established it as a popular meeting point for swimmers and families and cemented its role in Erfurt's leisure culture.
The name Nordbad refers to its northern location in Erfurt and its role as a public swimming venue. Families and neighbors gather here during summer months, making swimming a regular part of local community life.
Nordbad is easily reached by streetcar or car, with parking available nearby. The facility offers changing rooms, showers, lockers, changing tables for small children, and accessible toilets for people with disabilities.
Nordbad features a water cannon play area and a small boat in the children's pool, setting it apart from typical swimming facilities. These playful elements make visits especially memorable for younger children.
