Iglesia de San Pablo
Iglesia de San Pablo, Gothic church in central Valladolid, Spain
The church features a richly decorated stone facade with intricate carvings, religious figures, and a central rose window framed by spires.
Cardinal Juan de Torquemada ordered the construction between 1445 and 1468, replacing an earlier timber-roofed structure next to a Dominican convent from 1270.
The interior displays numerous religious artworks, including sculptures by Gregorio Fernandez and paintings by Bartolome de Cardenas in the transept area.
The church opens daily for visits, with guided tours available to explore the architectural details and religious art collections inside.
Kings Philip II and Philip IV received baptism in this church, which later became the burial site of the Duke of Lerma.
