Ras Al Jinz Turtle Nature Reserve

The nature reserve extends along pristine beaches where green sea turtles migrate to deposit thousands of eggs throughout the nesting season.

The protected area became a dedicated conservation site in 1996 to safeguard the nesting grounds of endangered green turtles in the Arabian Peninsula.

Local Omani guides share their knowledge about marine conservation while leading visitors through nighttime turtle watching experiences on the beaches.

Visitors can join guided walks at 8:30 PM or 5:00 AM to observe turtles nesting, with peak season occurring between May and September.

The reserve houses a scientific research center that monitors the annual migration patterns of five different turtle species across the Indian Ocean.
