Beauport, Sandy beach on western Jersey.

Beauport is a beach on Jersey's western coast with golden sand bordered by steep granite cliffs. The waters are shallow and clear, making them suitable for swimming and exploring on sunny days.

The location was originally a remote cove used by islanders for fishing and maritime activities in the early 1900s. Over time, this isolated spot developed into a recreational destination for both residents and visitors.

The beach serves as a gathering place where islanders connect with the sea and maintain their maritime heritage. You can see families enjoying the waters in ways that reflect how local life revolves around the coast.

To reach the beach, you must descend numerous steps from the parking area, so wear comfortable shoes for the climb. The location has no restrooms or shops nearby, so bring your own water and food.

Rose-tinted granite rocks line the beach's edge and sparkle in sunlight, especially striking during low tide. Hidden pools between these rocks fill with sea creatures, making the area worth exploring beyond just swimming.

What to visit in Jersey: medieval castles, maritime museums, sandy beaches

Jersey features a history that spans from the Neolithic period to World War II. On this Channel Island, visitors can explore Mont Orgueil Castle, a 13th-century fortress overlooking Gorey, and Elizabeth Castle, a 16th-century fort accessible by a causeway covered at high tide. The War Tunnels, a one-kilometer underground network built between 1940 and 1945, illustrate the period of German occupation. La Hougue Bie hosts a 6,000-year-old burial site topped with two medieval chapels. The island also offers natural areas such as Saint-Brelade Beach, maritime collections at the Jersey Museum, and local products available at La Mare Wine Estate or the Anglo-Normandian Islands Distillery. The Jersey Zoo, established in 1959, is dedicated to protecting endangered species over 13 hectares. These sites help understand the island's history, from its earliest inhabitants to maritime activities that have shaped Jersey up to the present.
