Cala di Pedralonga

Cala di Pedralonga is a small cove on the eastern coast of Sardinia featuring a striking granite rock that rises steeply from the water. The seabed is sandy and shallow near the shore, making it easy to wade in, while the surrounding cliffs create a sheltered swimming spot.

This cove has long served as an anchoring point for fishing boats and shaped the lives of coastal communities. Today the area is protected to preserve its distinctive rock formations and marine environment.

Local fishermen maintain traditional practices in the waters near Pedralonga, utilizing methods passed down through generations of Sardinian coastal communities.

A parking area at the top of the cliff provides access to the cove via stairs leading down to the beach. Few facilities are available on site, so visitors should bring water and snacks with them.

The rocks here are made of dolomite rather than the typical granite found elsewhere in the area, attracting climbers from around the world. This uncommon composition creates specialized climbing conditions that differ from other Sardinian coastal spots.
