Praia Vale do Olival

Praia Vale do Olival is a sandy beach along the Algarve coast with golden sand bordered by natural limestone cliffs. Mediterranean vegetation covers the surrounding area and several access points lead down to the water.

The area hosted ancient coastal settlements during Roman times when fishing formed the economic foundation. This early settlement shaped the region and made it important for maritime activities.

Local fishermen practice traditional methods here, using small boats to catch sardines and sea bass during early morning hours. These practices remain part of daily life and show how the community continues its connection to the sea.

The beach has designated parking areas and two restaurants serving fresh seafood. Lifeguards patrol the water from June through September to ensure visitor safety.

At low tide, a natural stone arch formation emerges and connects this beach to the neighboring Praia dos Beijinhos. This temporary passage only appears for a short time and creates a special link between two stretches of sand.
