Praia da Galé Oeste

Praia da Galé Oeste is a sandy beach on Albufeira's coastline bordered by limestone cliffs and natural rock outcrops that create sheltered spots. The shoreline combines flat sandy areas with irregular rocky sections, forming a mixed landscape where sand and stone meet.

The limestone formations along this shore were created when ancient seas shaped the land differently than it appears today. Over time, wind and water erosion carved out the rocky patterns and coves visible in the present landscape.

The beach is accessible via pathways and steps, with parking areas nearby and restroom facilities on-site. Rentals for umbrellas and loungers are available, along with shower facilities to rinse off sand and salt.

Specialized marine plants grow in the rock crevices between the limestone formations, adapted to survive in this harsh coastal setting. These plants become visible at low tide and reveal how life persists in extreme conditions.
