Praia da Coelha, Protected beach cove near Sesmarias, Portugal
The sandy beach extends between tall limestone cliffs, with a wooden boardwalk connecting the main area to a restaurant section.
The beach gained recognition in 2012 when it became one of the 69 coastal areas in Algarve to receive the Blue Flag certification.
Local residents maintain traditional fishing practices along the coastline, utilizing small boats launched directly from the golden sand.
Visitors can access facilities including lifeguard services, sun beds, showers, and therapeutic massage treatments from early April through the beach season.
A narrow footpath through olive trees, carob groves, and bamboo leads visitors from the parking area down to the beach entrance.
