Praia da Coelha

Praia da Coelha is a protected sandy beach nestled between tall limestone cliffs that frame the shoreline. A wooden boardwalk connects the main swimming area to a restaurant section, providing an accessible route along the coast.

The beach received Blue Flag recognition in 2012, becoming one of 69 coastal areas in the Algarve region to achieve this certification. This award marked official recognition of its environmental quality and cleanliness standards.

Local fishermen continue to work from this cove, launching traditional small boats directly from the sand as they have done for generations. This working practice shapes the daily character of the place.

Lifeguard services, sun beds, showers, and massage facilities operate here from early April through the end of the summer season. Visitors should plan their visit around these months for the full range of amenities.

A narrow footpath shaded by olive trees, carob groves, and bamboo guides visitors from the parking area down to the beach entrance. This green approach creates a quiet transition from the car park to the shore.
