Praia de Morgavel

Praia de Morgavel is a sandy beach along the Sines coastline featuring 300 meters of brown sand with a gentle slope leading toward the Atlantic Ocean. The water remains calm and inviting, especially in the shallow areas near the shore.

The area was a small fishing community for centuries before rapid development began in the 1970s. The creation of the modern port fundamentally transformed the regional economy and landscape.

The beach serves as a gathering place where locals and visitors come together for swimming, snorkeling, and fishing activities. The sheltered bay creates a natural meeting point that draws families throughout the warmer months.

The beach is easily accessible through an asphalted path with parking located just 30 meters from the sand area. Visitors should know that swimming conditions improve at high tide when the water deepens across the bay.

At low tide, small pools of warm water form along the southern edge where the Morgavel river meets the beach. These natural basins create a rare and appealing feature that shifts with the tides.
