Praia Grande de Porto Côvo

Praia Grande de Porto Covo extends 300 meters along the Atlantic coast, featuring brown sand bordered by tall limestone cliffs and clear blue waters.

The beach has been part of the Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina since its establishment in 1995, preserving the regional coastal ecosystem.

Local fishermen maintain traditional fishing practices at the northern end of the beach, contributing to the regional gastronomy of Alentejo.

The beach provides 100 parking spaces, restrooms, showers, restaurants, and seasonal lifeguard services from June through September during daylight hours.

The underwater terrain combines sandy areas with rock formations, creating natural pools at low tide and generating waves suitable for surfing.
