Praia do Malhão Norte

Praia do Malhão Norte is a sand beach along the Atlantic coast featuring a wide shoreline backed by natural dunes and rocky outcrops at its southern end. The beach stretches across an open expanse without buildings or developed facilities.

The beach has remained unchanged since becoming part of the Southwest Alentejo Natural Park, which restricted any development. This protection has preserved its natural state over the years.

The northern section has long served as a space for naturist practice, reflecting how locals embrace this activity as part of beach culture. People from the wider region come here specifically for this purpose.

The beach lacks facilities such as lifeguards, restaurants, or rental services, so visitors should bring their own supplies. Pack water, snacks, and sun protection before heading there.

The Galés rock formation divides the beach into two separate sections at high tide, creating distinct areas for different activities. This natural split changes the beach layout depending on water levels.
