Praia da Mata

Praia da Mata is a sand beach along the Atlantic Ocean in Costa da Caparica featuring wide sandy areas and natural dune systems. These dunes run along the entire stretch and form characteristic landforms for this coastal section.

The beach was shaped by the establishment of Camping Piedense, which borders its southern edge and drove development in the area. This early tourist facility helped establish the location as a known destination.

Access to the beach is available through a parking area in an open field or via Transpraia train stops 6 and 7. Visitors should use the available transport options to reach the beach conveniently.
