Parque da Paz

Parque da Paz is a large urban park in Almada with diverse green areas and multiple zones to explore. The space features children's play areas, seating, small animal enclosures, cafes, fountains, and approximately 114 tree species including firs, pines, olive, and cypress trees.

The park was created through urban development projects in Almada that transformed a large area into a community recreational space. This initiative brought green space to the city and gave residents a natural place to gather.

Art installations by sculptor José Aurélio are scattered throughout the gardens, serving as an outdoor exhibition space. These works blend into the planted areas, inviting visitors to discover contemporary sculpture while walking the paths.

The grounds are accessible around the clock, allowing flexible visiting times for guests. Comfortable shoes are recommended for walking the paths, and bringing water is helpful for longer visits.

Wild rabbits hop freely across the grounds while swans and ducks inhabit the lake, creating unexpected animal encounters. This living wildlife makes each visit feel unpredictable and shows how nature and urban life can coexist.
