NRP Barracuda, Attack submarine museum in Cacilhas, Portugal
The NRP Barracuda measures 57.8 meters in length and stands in a dry dock at Largo Alfredo Diniz in Cacilhas district of Almada.
The submarine conducted its first dive in St. Nazaire on April 23, 1968, and entered the Tagus River on October 13, 1968.
The vessel represents Portuguese naval technology from the 1960s and contains original equipment that demonstrates submarine warfare evolution.
The museum submarine welcomes visitors from Tuesday to Sunday between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with guided tours available throughout opening hours.
During operation Endurance in 1997, NRP Barracuda remained at sea for 31 consecutive days, conducting extensive naval exercises.
