Poniente Beach, Sand beach in Benidorm, Spain
Poniente Beach is a wide sandy beach on the western side of Benidorm, Spain. A long promenade lined with palm trees runs behind the sand, ending near a small park called Tamarind Park at one end and a yacht club close to the other.
Benidorm was a small fishing village for centuries before mass tourism transformed it from the 1950s onward. The promenade behind Poniente Beach was redesigned in 2009 and given its current look with curved shapes and bright touches.
The beach is easy to reach on foot from central Benidorm, and parking is available nearby for those arriving by car. On site you will find sun lounger and umbrella rental, toilets, water sports rental, and a children's play area.
Near the port end of the beach, a rocky stretch attracts local fishermen who gather there early in the morning and in the late afternoon. This corner feels very different from the rest of the sandy shore and offers a glimpse of a slower daily rhythm beside the sea.
