Playa de la Higuerica

Playa de la Higuerica is a sand beach along the Mediterranean coast near Águilas, featuring fine gray sand. The shoreline stretches for about 200 meters with an average width of about 47 meters.

Local fishermen named the rocky islet in front of the beach 'La Cama de los Novios' because of its distinctive sharp peaks. The name refers to the unique silhouette created by these characteristic rock formations.

The beach is part of a smoke-free zone network in the Region of Murcia, inviting visitors to keep the area clean and protected. This initiative shows how the place functions as a space for environmentally conscious behavior today.

The beach can be accessed from Carretera de Vera at kilometer 5, where designated parking areas are available. Accessible facilities are provided to help visitors reach and enjoy the shoreline.

The beach opens to the east and receives natural protection from western winds, creating excellent swimming conditions. This southeastern exposure makes it particularly attractive during stable weather.
