Playa de la Yerbabuena, Sand beach in Barbate, Spain
The 950-meter-long beach combines white sand with clear waters along the coastline of Barbate, bordered by rock formations and natural pine groves.
The beach received its name from the natural water springs emerging from nearby cliffs, which local residents historically used for fresh water collection.
The annual Open Surf Yerbabuena championship brings together competitive surfers from mainland Spain and the Canary Islands to showcase their skills.
Access to the beach requires following an unpaved path located on the left side of the road connecting Barbate with Los Caños.
This location features the longest right-breaking wave in Andalusia, making it a preferred destination for experienced surfers during specific tide conditions.
