East End Beach

East End Beach is a public sand beach on Dauphin Island stretching along the Gulf of Mexico with white sand and calm water. The shoreline faces Mobile Bay where fishing boats and larger vessels move throughout the day.

The site sits near Fort Gaines, a 19th-century coastal fortification that saw military action during the American Civil War. The fort's presence shaped the area's development as a defense point along the coast.
