Laguna El Pino

The lake spans 0.72 square kilometers with a maximum depth of 18 meters, surrounded by dense vegetation and water hyacinth beds.

The Guatemalan government designated El Pino Lake as a national park in 1955, preserving 0.73 square kilometers of water and shoreline territory.

Local communities maintain strong connections to the lake through traditional fishing practices, water-based celebrations, and regular family gatherings at its shores.

Visitors can access the lake Wednesday through Sunday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with an entrance fee of 5 Quetzales per person.

The lake's ecosystem supports multiple waterfowl species, including Pied-billed Grebe, Northern Jacana, and American Coot, among native aquatic vegetation.
