Cascade de Wome, Natural waterfall in Région des Plateaux, Togo.

Cascade de Wome is a natural waterfall in Région des Plateaux where water flows down through several tiers of lush vegetation. The falling water creates a series of cascades that can be viewed from multiple vantage points.

The waterfall has long served as an important water source for nearby villages, supporting their growth and survival. This role has remained central to how people in the region have developed and settled over time.

The waterfall holds meaning for nearby communities as a gathering place where people meet during certain times of the year to observe customs handed down through their families. These occasions connect locals to their surroundings and to one another.

Reaching the waterfall requires a walk of about four kilometers from Womé village to the picnic area, followed by a steep descent. Wear sturdy footwear and allow extra time to navigate the route safely and at a comfortable pace.

Swimmers can access three different pools at separate heights along the waterfall, each holding water at different temperatures with its own mineral content. These variations make each area a distinct experience for those who visit.
