Diagnozjusz, Bronze dwarf statue at Pharmacy Faculty of Medical University in Wrocław, Poland.
Diagnozjusz is a bronze figure in medical uniform standing near the entrance of the Pharmacy Faculty building on Borowska Street at the Medical University. The small statue carries professional instruments typical of diagnostic work.
The statue was designed by artist Beata Zwolańska-Hołod and installed in 2012 as the collection of dwarf sculptures continued to expand. It emerged from a movement that began in the 1980s as resistance and later became an urban art project.
This statue honors healthcare professionals and joins a collection of over 400 dwarf sculptures spread across the city. It celebrates the work of pharmacy and diagnostics as valued by residents.
The statue sits on university grounds and is normally accessible during regular building hours. Visitor maps of the dwarf sculptures are available at local tourist information centers to help locate this and other statues.
This figure is one of the few in the collection dedicated specifically to a medical profession and shows a diagnostician at work. The portrayal of the profession with its characteristic tools makes it a special example of connecting city art with respect for skilled workers.
