Marzenka

Marzenka is a small bronze sculpture on Gaj Street, crafted with fine details and a patinated metal surface. The artwork stands in a public space where it can be seen from multiple angles, with its modest height placing it at an intimate scale.

The statue was installed in 2008 as part of a project intended to populate Wrocław with dozens of small bronze figures. This initiative spread rapidly and made such artworks a characteristic feature of the city's appearance.

This bronze figure grew out of a movement where street artists expressed resistance through small public sculptures. Today, the statue is woven into the neighborhood's visual identity and noticed by both locals and visitors.

The statue is located in the busy Gaj neighborhood, where you can easily spot it while walking if you keep your eyes open. Specialized maps for dwarf tours are available at tourist spots and help you visit multiple figures in one outing.

Local residents occasionally dress the small figure in tiny scarves and hats during winter months. This spontaneous gesture gives the statue a changing appearance depending on the season and shows how connected the community feels to the artwork.
