Telecław

Telecław, Bronze dwarf statue in Przedmieście Oławskie, Poland.

Telecław is a bronze figure installed near the Hansel & Gretel houses and represents one of hundreds of small sculptures that decorate Wrocław's streets. The statue displays typical features of this art collection with its crafted design and placement within the city.

The statue was added in 2021 and continues a tradition that began in the 1980s as a symbol of resistance against communist rule. This origin explains why such figures hold special meaning in Wrocław and why new examples continue to be created today.

This figure belongs to a large collection of krasnale, small bronze sculptures that spread throughout Wrocław's streets and squares like an open-air gallery. Visitors discover these sculptures while walking and notice how they shape the city's appearance.

Visitors can locate Telecław and other dwarf sculptures using specialized maps available at tourist information centers. A good city map or mobile application makes it easy to find the figure within the Przedmieście Oławskie neighborhood.

This figure is part of the largest collection of public dwarf sculptures in Poland, with over 300 individual pieces scattered throughout the city. Each design and position was carefully planned to create a connected artistic network across Wrocław.
