WOTuś

WOTuś is a bronze dwarf statue located at Market Square near Świdnicka Street in Wrocław. It forms part of a collection of over 300 bronze dwarf sculptures positioned throughout the city at different locations.

The statue was installed in 2022, continuing a tradition that began in 2001 with the first dwarf monument. That initial monument honored the Orange Alternative movement, an artistic protest movement from the 1980s.

The figure represents the connection between modern street art and the Polish folkloric character krasnoludek, a traditional dwarf from local stories. This art form shows how contemporary artists integrate old cultural motifs into public spaces today.

WOTuś stands in a public square and is easy to reach on foot. Specialized maps are available at the tourist office or online to help you find and explore all the dwarf statues throughout the city.
