The Teatro del Libertador General San Martín is an Italianate opera house in the center of Córdoba, Argentina, built around a horseshoe-shaped auditorium that rises across five levels. The building was designed in 1887 by architect Francesco Tamburini at the request of the provincial government, which wanted the city to have a proper venue for artistic performances. It has held that role ever since, remaining the main theater of the province.
