Aquarium, Public aquarium in Wrocław, Poland.
The Aquarium in Wrocław is Poland's largest facility of its kind and houses over 5,000 animals from African waters in multiple tanks. The facility displays seven shark species, manatees, hippopotamuses, and many other creatures in separate exhibits.
The facility opened in 2014 as Poland's first oceanarium project focused on African waters. It remains the world's only institution dedicated solely to this geographical region.
The facility serves as a learning space where visitors discover how African water environments function and matter to the world. The displays reflect the importance of these ecosystems through the animals and habitats shown.
Access throughout the building moves across multiple levels connected by wide walkways and elevators, making it easy for most visitors to navigate. Plan to spend enough time to explore all sections without rushing.
Each tank recreates a specific African water environment, from Red Sea coral reefs to the lakes of East Africa. This approach lets visitors experience multiple distinct habitats in one location.
