Howth Market
Howth Market is a weekend market on the waterfront of Howth, a fishing village north of Dublin in Ireland. It brings together around 25 stalls selling fresh food, baked goods, jewelry, clothing, and handmade items, alongside four permanent units that open daily.
The market moved to its current waterfront location in 2013 and has since become a regular part of town life in Howth. The village harbor has a fishing history that goes back to the 14th century and still operates today.
The market sits right beside Howth's working harbor, where fishing boats still dock and unload their catch. Visitors can watch local traders and artisans at work, getting a direct sense of how the coastal life of the village carries into everyday commerce.
The market is directly across from Howth DART Station, making it easy to reach by train from Dublin. Part of the area is covered, which provides some shelter on rainy days, and a walk through all the stalls usually takes under an hour.
A permanent shop called Unique Oak operates inside the market and specializes in handmade wooden goods. This shows that the market is not just a place for seasonal stalls but also a home for small local businesses that trade year-round.
