Blue Trail

The Blue Trail is a hiking path that runs from Pissouri Square to Columbia Hotel near the beach while passing through different landscape types. The route gains elevation and offers views of the coastline as well as the inland areas with fields and olive groves.

The area around this trail has been settled since ancient times, with archaeologists finding traces of early settlements throughout the region. This location was shaped by various historical periods that defined Cyprus.

The trail passes by traditional village homes where visitors can see how people live and work in this region. The landscape shows how residents have adapted to life in these coastal hills.

Visitors should bring plenty of water and wear proper hiking shoes since the path is uneven and exposed to sun. Starting early in the morning helps you hike before the hottest hours.

At higher sections of the trail, hikers find fossils of sea creatures in the rocks, showing that the sea once reached much higher. These remains tell a story about how the landscape changed over long periods.
