Glass House Mountain Lookout
The Glass House Mountain Lookout is a scenic viewpoint in Beerburrum West State Forest that offers a clear view of the mountain peaks that give the area its name. From the raised platform, visitors can see across to the coast and on clear days watch the vista extend toward Caloundra, Maroochydore, and Brisbane.
The mountains have stood in the landscape for thousands of years and served as natural landmarks for early communities. Later settlers used the region for farming and grazing, while the peaks continued to represent the natural heritage of the area.
The lookout serves as a gathering spot where locals and visitors pause to observe the distinctive mountain peaks that define the Beerburrum region. People use the platform to connect with the landscape, often stopping for reflection or to share the view with family and friends.
Access is straightforward via Old Gympie Road through Beerburrum and Beerwah, then onto Glass House Woodford Road where signs point the way to the car park. Picnic tables are available at the lookout, and nearby facilities provide toilets for visitor convenience.
A fire tower at the site allows visitors to climb higher and gain an even wider view across the landscape. This simple structure provides a panoramic sight from the top over Moreton Bay, the coastline, and on clear days even Brisbane.
