Cascade Falls is a waterfall in F.D. Roosevelt State Park in Meriwether County, Georgia, reached via the Pine Mountain Trail. The water drops into a rocky pool below, and the path to it follows Wolfden Creek, crossing it multiple times along the way.
The land around the park was shaped in part by a major storm in 2011 that knocked down many trees and left large fallen trunks visible along the trails. The park itself is tied to President Franklin D. Roosevelt, who regularly visited the nearby town of Warm Springs.
The trailhead is at a parking lot south of Warm Springs, near a tall TV tower, and is reached by quiet country roads. The trail system is large and can seem confusing, so picking up a map at the visitor center before heading out is a good idea.
The trail to the falls crosses Wolfden Creek 13 times, which means wet feet are almost unavoidable on the way. These repeated crossings make the creek a constant companion throughout the walk rather than just a backdrop.
