Adrar Stadium
Stade Adrar is a large football stadium in Agadir, Morocco, with a capacity of about 45,000 spectators. The modern structure features stepped stands, a running track surrounding the pitch, and sits at the foot of the Atlas Mountains.
Construction began in 2003 as part of Morocco's bid for the World Cup, but was interrupted and resumed in 2007. The stadium officially opened in 2013 and later served as a venue for the Club World Cup.
The stadium's name references the mountainous terrain of the region. It has become a gathering place for football fans in Agadir, where supporters meet on match days and the city comes together to cheer for the local team.
The stadium sits on the edge of Agadir, about 6 kilometers (4 miles) from the city center. A car or taxi is the best way to reach it, with the journey from the center taking only a few minutes.
The stadium was built using excavated earth shaped into embankments around the structure, saving on construction costs. The stone-faced slopes and pyramid-like form give it an appearance that blends naturally with the surrounding mountainous landscape.
